In a short period of time Emil Eliasson has established himself as one of the most exciting Swedish conductors of his generation
He has been frequently engaged as opera conductor in productions including: Falstaff at Läckö Court Opera, The barber of Seville, The marriage of Figaro and Fidelio at Wermland Opera, La Voix humaine and Eugene Onegin at The University College of Opera in Stockholm and La Regina delle nevi at Norrlandsoperan.
Emil is already enjoying ongoing relationships with many Swedish ensembles. They include: Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, Gävle Symphony Orchestra, Norrlandsoperan's Symphony Orchestra, Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, Nordic Chamber Orchestra, Dalasinfoniettan and Wermland Opera Orchestra among others. His engagements also include debuts with The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Uppsala Chamber Orchestra, Gothenburg Wind Orchestra, The Royal Swedish Navy Band and Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces.
Emil has assisted assisted Daniel Harding, chief conductor at the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and has been engaged as assistant conductor by Simone Young at Staatsoper Berlin and The royal Opera in Stockholm in productions of Die Frau Ohne Schatten and Elektra. He as also been engaged as assistant conductor at the Royal Opera in Stockholm in productions including Die Walküre, Salome and Der Rosenkavalier with chief conductor Lawrence Renes and at Norrlandsoperan under chief conductor Rumon Gamba in productions of Carmen and Elektra as well as a great number of symphonic programs.
In the spring of 2015 Emil was chosen by the Royal Swedish Academy of Music to take part in a master class with maestro Herbert Blomstedt and the Swedish radio symphony orchestra in Berwaldhallen, Stockholm. Emil has also been the recipient of the national scholarship of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music three years in a row.
In the fall of 2015 Emil received the Crusell scholarship, awarded to young promising Swedish conductors.
Emil started his career as a bassoon player at a young age and soon came to develop his interest in conducting. He now holds a bachelor and masters degree in orchestral conducting from The Royal Collage of Music in Stockholm from which he graduated in the spring of 2014.
